Features and Technology
The US Optics TS20X includes a variety of features tailored for precision in a variety of long range environments. Here’s a breakdown of some key features:
2.5-20x Magnification Range
The TS20X’s versatile zoom allows for both close-range precision and long-range capability over 1000 yards, giving shooters flexibility across different shooting scenarios without needing an optic swap.
First Focal Plane Reticle
Available with multiple reticle options (GENIIXR, MDMOA, JVCR, MGR), the TS20X’s first focal plane design maintains the reticle’s subtensions throughout the entire magnification range. This feature is essential for accurate range estimation and holdovers, as the reticle’s size scales proportionally with magnification.
Adjustable Parallax
The TS20X offers a parallax adjustment feature, which can be fine-tuned from 10 yards to infinity with markings at key yardages for quick adjustments. This capability helps eliminate parallax error, ensuring a sharp image and more precise shot placement at longer distances.
Elevation and Windage Turrets
The turrets on the TS20X provide precise, repeatable adjustments. With 1/10 MIL (for MIL reticles) or 1/4 MOA (for MOA reticles) click values, the turrets are easy to adjust and the detents lock it into place, ensuring settings remain consistent under stress and while firing.
Wide Field of View
Offering a field of view up to 14 meters at 100 meters (at 2.5x), the TS20X enables situational awareness and quick target acquisition, especially useful for dynamic shooting environments where seeing a larger area at lower magnification is beneficial.
Rugged, Anodized Construction
Built with a 34mm tube and a Type III hard anodized matte black finish, the TS20X is designed for durability. The anodized finish resists scratches and weathering, and the overall construction is shockproof, fog-proof and waterproof, ensuring reliability.
Red Reticle Illumination
For low-light situations, the red illumination enhances reticle visibility, while the CR2032 battery provides long-lasting power. This feature allows for better target contrast when natural lighting is limited.
Zero Stop Option
The optional zero-stop feature allows shooters to quickly return to a preset zero after making adjustments and floating the knobs, with adjustments limited to 9.5 MILS/23.75 MOA when engaged. This is especially useful for competitive and tactical shooters who need to make precise, on-the-fly adjustments.

Build Quality and Design
The US Optics TS20X definitely impressed me with its lightweight construction adding minimal weight to my build. The finish is sleek, with a subtle USO branding on each side that adds a a bit of branding without being overly prominent. The turrets feel very well-made, both smooth and tight, with a solid, tactile feel and to each click.

The zoom adjustment has a smooth, fluid motion with just the right amount of resistance, allowing for precise control when shifting magnification levels. However, I do wish the TS20X came with a throw lever for the magnification ring. I’m a big fan of throw levers as they make magnification adjustments much quicker and easier, especially in dynamic shooting scenarios. So I will be adding one in the future and again that’s just my preference. Including one as standard option would have definitely added a bit more value to the price.

The lens caps are ok, the rear cap feels a bit loose and falls off often, which can hinder the overall experience. The front cap, however, is firm and does its job effectively.
While the TS20X doesn’t come with a sunshade as standard, one is available for an additional $50. This addition would have been a nice inclusion as well, but it’s good to know it can be added if needed.
The glass clarity is excellent, and the illumination control for the reticle is designed for ease of use. Each click on the illumination dial feels firm, with alternating on and off settings, so you can turn off the reticle with a single click rather than rotating the dial all the way around. This practical design lets you return to your previous brightness level with minimal hassle. As for the reticle itself it’s clear and crisp, very easy to use and read.

Installation
To install the US Optics TS20X, I began by securing the rifle in a vise, ensuring it was level by checking the rail with a level. Then applied a light amount of grease to the rail where I planned to mount the rings. Doing so helps prevent binding and allows for a smoother, more secure fit when mounting rings.
For this particular build, I chose Area419 34mm match rings, I’m a big fan of there products and their rings didn’t disappoint. After aligning and torquing the rings down to the recommended specs, I positioned the scope for optimal eye relief based on my shooting preference. Before clamping down the scope tube with the ring caps, I leveled the scope using the level then confirming its alignment through the plumb bob method. A method that I find as a reliable way to ensure the reticle remains true to vertical alignment.

Once satisfied with the level, I evenly torqued the ring caps. Lastly double checking that the level stayed consistent after securing them. If you’re interested in a more detailed guide on mounting and leveling scopes, let me know in the comments. Maybe I’ll create a dedicated article that dives deeper into the specifics of scope installation and leveling techniques.
Zeroing The TS20x
Before testing the US Optics TS20X, I had to set the zero at 100 yards. My TS20X model uses MRAD, with each turret click representing 0.1 mil (about 1/3 inch at 100 yards, or 3.6 inches for 1 mil or 10 clicks). After my first five shot grouping hit roughly 7 inches high, I adjusted the elevation down by 20 clicks, which brought me right on plane with the target. Then a minor left adjustment of two clicks (about half an inch) fine-tuned the zero, confirming that the turret values are accurate and consistent. The turrets are smooth and tight, with precise, audible, and tactile clicks that make adjustments easy, though they are pretty closely spaced clicks meaning it’s best not to rush through adjustments. What i’m trying to say take your time so you don’t skip any clicks when counting.

Once I had it zeroed, I floated the turret knobs to the “0” position. To do this its pretty simple with the TS20X. Start by holding the knob, then loosening a single screw with a flathead screwdriver one full rotation. After lift the knob, aligning the zero with the mark, and lastly tightening it back down.
On-Range Performance
The US Optics TS20X delivers impressive clarity, with sharp and crisp sight picture across the full magnification range. The reticles can sometimes come off intimidating but the MGR reticle is straightforward and easy to use. At 2.5x magnification, the holdover marker is pretty useless looking like a simple crosshair design. But once you hit 8x or higher the holdover markers come into play. Now this isn’t a flaw of the scope it’s actually pretty typical of an FFP scope if you are not familiar with them. To make it simple the more you zoom in the bigger the reticle or holdover marks become. The MGR reticle layout is straightforward, making it easy to read and use. as for the marks accuracy they are dead on (see photo below). The reticle itself is very clear and unobtrusive to the sight picture. Additionally, the red illumination is amazing, with multiple brightness settings that seamlessly adapt to different lighting conditions and easily turned on and off.

The parallax adjustment is smooth and simple, delivering a clear/focused view from as close as 10 yards to beyond 500 yards. The adjustment knob is also labeled for different yardages from 10 to infinity, making the adjustment very quick and easy. After several hundred rounds and multiple turret adjustments, the TS20X held zero perfectly. The turret adjustments remained consistent and accurate, which really highlights the scope’s reliability. The glass it self resists fogging very well, even when transitioning between below freezing outside to a heated house. If only my glasses would do the same.

A drawback in the TS20X’s performance is the rear lens cap, I know it’s not the scope itself but it does come with it. The cap is very loose and tends to fall off just by flicking the cap open, making it more of a nuisance than a benefit. In contrast, the front lens cap fits securely and performs as expected. This issue with the rear cap slightly detracts from the scope’s otherwise high-quality construction. Overall, however, the TS20X provides excellent performance with clear optics, reliable adjustments, and practical features, making it a strong choice for shooters in varied conditions.
Overall Rating
Build Quality: 4.1/5
The scope is constructed with high-quality materials and has a flawless finish. However, the loose rear lens cap slightly reduced the score.
Sight Picture: 4.5/5
The glass provides a very clear sight picture, and the focus adjustment makes targeting at different distances easy. The reticle performs well, being clear and unobtrusive.
Appearance: 4.4/5
With a sleek, minimalistic design and subtle USO branding, the TS20X strikes a balanced look. The turrets are well-proportioned, and the flawless finish enhances its overall aesthetic, I’m a Fan.
Performance: 4.7/5
Performance is a strong point, with consistent and accurate click values, effective reticle illumination, and clear, fog-resistant lenses that perform well in various conditions.
Value: 4.0/5
Priced between $1,495 and $1,595, the TS20X can be seen as a higher end scope but still a great value when looking at its performance and design, though the loose fitting rear lens cap took a bit away from the attention to detail with its accessories.
Overall Score: 4.3/5
