Key Features
RMSc/JPoint® Footprint
The MPO PRO-S is designed with an RMSc/JPoint® footprint, making it compatible with a wide variety of popular subcompact and micro-compact handguns, such as the Sig Sauer P365 and Springfield Hellcat or my case the Wilson Combat P365.
Automatic/Manual Brightness Adjustment
The MPO PRO-S offers both automatic and manual brightness controls. The automatic brightness adjustment uses a light sensor located at the front bottom left of the sight. This sensor is discreet and virtually unnoticed unless you’re specifically looking for it, allowing for smooth transitions between lighting conditions without compromising the sight’s sleek design.

Three-Segment Reticle
This optic features three reticle options: a 3 MOA dot, a 33 MOA circle, and a bullseye (Circle with a Dot). The variety accommodates different preferences and shooting scenarios.
Shake Awake Technology
The shake-awake feature ensures the sight is always ready when needed. The MPO PRO-S activates automatically with motion and conserves battery when not in use, making it ideal for everyday carry.
Closed Emitter Design
The closed-emitter design protects the optic from dust, debris, and moisture while making it easier to clean than open-emitter models. This is definitely a plus for concealed carry.

Design and Build Quality
Weighing in at only 1.4 ounces, the MPO PRO-S adds virtually no noticeable weight to your handgun, making it an excellent choice for concealed carry. In terms of size, the sight is just slightly wider than the slide of my Wilson Combat P365, but goes unnoticed when carrying. For me, the choice between a closed-emitter and open-emitter optic should come down to preference as both may add some type of bulk to your handgun but would rather use a sight you are comfortable with or prefer.

The closed-emitter design is another significant advantage, offering superior protection against dust, debris, and water intrusion. It’s also much easier to clean compared to an open-emitter design, making maintenance less of a hassle. The battery tray is well-built made of aluminum not plastic and has a water tight seal. And being on the side of the optic makes changing the battery a whole lot easier.
Aesthetically, the MPO PRO-S looks sleek, with a durable finish that is flawless. The subtle branding on the right side of the optic looks great without being too flashy. Always love good looking branding but can’t stand those that do too much.

The lenses are clear, providing an excellent sight picture, and the reticle remains crisp. The brightness buttons are easy to press and provide a satisfying tactile and audible click. I can say I’m definitely a fan of at least the build quality so far.
Installation
I installed the MPO PRO-S on my Wilson Combat P365, and the process was pretty straightforward. To start, you’ll need a slide cut for an RMSc footprint or an adapter plate compatible with the pattern. My slide was already pre-cut by Wilson Combat for RMSc optics.
I started by attaching the provided adapter plate and torqued it down to spec. Before mounting the optic, I applied a small dab of grease to the plate’s surface to minimize friction and potential movement over time. Then I placed the MPO PRO-S onto the plate and tightened the clamp.

After mounting, I inserted the CR1632 battery into the side tray and powered on the optic with a press of the up button. Adjusting brightness is simple using the up or down buttons. To switch to auto-brightness simply press and hold the up button for 3 seconds. The MPO PRO-S also offers three reticle options (bullseye circle with a dot, circle, and dot) which can be cycled through by pressing and holding the down button. To shut the sight off press and hold both the up and down buttons at the same time until the reticle shuts off.

One minor drawback is the lack of memory for brightness and reticle settings when the optic is turned off. It defaults to the bullseye circle with a dot and manual brightness upon powering back on. However, this is a small inconvenience, as I rarely turn the sight off.
Performance
After installing the MPO PRO-S on my Wilson Combat P365, I headed out to the range. First, I want to say the sight picture is excellent, especially for a subcompact red dot. One thing to note is that the rear lens can occasionally have some glare. The reticle is crisp and clear, with my preferred one being the bullseye. This reticle makes finding center and achieving quick target acquisition a breeze.

The brightness settings are another highlight. My personal favorite is the auto-brightness feature, which works seamlessly. It adapts effectively to changing environments, making transitions from light to dark effortless and eliminated the need to mess around with settings.

After zeroing the sight and putting around 1,000 rounds through my P365 during testing and carrying it quite often, I can confidently say that the MPO PRO-S held zero perfectly throughout. Even with banging the sight around, racking the slide using the sight up against and object and carrying it often, I experienced zero malfunctions. No wandering reticles, flickers or issues with the optic at all. I can only assume the shake-awake feature works properly as I haven’t needed to replace the battery and haven’t shut the sight off since it’s been installed. As I still use this setup quite often I will come back an update if there’s anything worth mentioning.
Overall Rating
Reliability: 5/5
The Meprolight MPO PRO-S performed flawlessly during testing. I experienced zero malfunctions or issues, and the red dot held its zero exceptionally well, even after extended use and banging around. The closed-emitter design ensures dependable functionality in various environments, making it a reliable choice for concealed carry and regular use.
Sight Picture: 4/5
The sight picture is great, with clear lenses and a crisp reticle. The three-segment reticle, particularly the bullseye circle with a dot, provides excellent target acquisition. However, the rear lens can occasionally glare depending on the angle and lighting environment.
Design and Build Quality: 4.4/5
The MPO PRO-S is sleek and durable, with a flawless finish that resists wear and tear pretty well. The clear lenses, high-quality battery tray, and waterproof closed-emitter design highlight its superior build. The mounting clamp is strong and reliable, holding the sight securely without ever loosening over time. Only complaint is the lack of setting memory when shutting off.
Ergonomics: 4.2/5
Weighing only 1.4 ounces, the MPO PRO-S is impressively light. While the closed-emitter design adds some bulk (but let’s be real what optic doesn’t), it remains unobtrusive and barely noticeable while carrying.
Value: 4.7/5
Priced at $279.99, but can often be found for $249.99 from retailers like Optics Planet, BattleHawk Armory, and Brownells, the MPO PRO-S offers amazing bang for your buck with my experience. Its combination of durability, reliability, and features definitely make it a standout option for its price vs quality.
Overall Rating: 4.4/5

Final Thoughts
The Meprolight MPO PRO-S is a well-rounded optic that combines reliability, compactness, and versatility in a design tailored for EDC. Its closed-emitter construction, lightweight build, and advanced features like the three-segment reticle and automatic brightness adjustment make it a top choice for micro or subcompact firearms. While minor issues like occasional glare on the rear lens and the lack of reticle memory when powered off may slightly detract from the overall experience, these could be outweighed by its strong performance, robust design, and exceptional value. For those seeking a dependable, feature-rich red dot sight for everyday carry, the MPO PRO-S is an impressive contender that I would recommend.
