The Wilson Combat WCP365L enters the market with the goal of elevating one of Sig Sauer’s most popular compact handguns to new heights. As a collaboration between two industry giants, Sig Sauer, known for its reliability and innovation, and Wilson Combat, famed for its craftsmanship and high-performance firearms and customizations, the WCP365L should be placing itself as a top-tier choice for concealed carry. This model has sparked my interest for its potential upgrades in performance, style, and handling, as well as being a huge fan of Wilson Combat products. This review will breakdown what Wilson Combat has brought to the table and see how well this collaboration holds up against the expectations it’s set.

Wilson Combat x Sig Sauer

The collaboration between Wilson Combat and Sig Sauer combines the strengths of two renowned names in the firearm industry. Sig Sauer’s P365 series is highly popular for its reliability, compact size, and suitability for everyday carry, making it a favorite among concealed-carry enthusiasts. Wilson Combat, on the other hand, is known for its precision-driven upgrades, turning factory models into finely tuned, high-performance firearms through custom machining, improved ergonomics, and premium finishes. As well as manufacturing their own line of high performance and high quality firearms.

The WCP365L is just one of the collaborations from Wilson Combat, where they have taken the legendary Sig P365 platform and infused it with their signature touches. This includes upgraded aesthetics, subtle design refinements, and functional enhancements that aim to elevate the user experience. By bringing their own level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, Wilson Combat seeks to take the P365’s capabilities even further while retaining the features that made it popular.

WCP365L Overview

Wilson Combat has taken the P365 platform and enhanced it through a series of upgrades. The WCP365L’s slide has been reshaped and retextured, featuring Wilson Combat’s exclusive X-TAC pattern on the cocking serrations and heavy beveling, provides a more tactile experience even under stress. For those who want an optimal trigger pull, the WCP365L is available in both a standard version and an action-tuned option, which combines a Grayguns trigger with Wilson Combat’s spring modifications for a smoother, more refined feel.

Additionally, the WCP365L offers optic mounting options tailored to a range of popular red dot sights. It can be ordered with a direct-milled optic cut (complete with a cover plate and rear Battlesight) that accommodates choices like the Trijicon RMRcc, Holosun 407K, 507K, SIG Sauer Romeo Zero, or Shield RMSc. These optic-ready options, paired with enhanced ergonomics and overall shootability, make the Wilson Combat WCP365L a step up in performance from the factory Sig P365.

Features

Slide

In true Wilson Combat fashion, the slide on the WCP365L has been completely redesigned for a more tactical and ergonomic feel. Wilson Combat’s X-TAC serrations on the front and rear provide an enhanced grip and familiar feel reminiscent of their WCP320 design, which I previously reviewed. Top serrations adds more style then practicality in my eyes, while the slide features an RMSc optic cut, an addition I felt was missing on the WCP320. The slide is finished with Wilson Combat’s signature DLC coating, which is flawless and and holds up well to abuse.

Barrel

The WCP365L comes equipped with a 3.7-inch barrel, offering extra length for improved accuracy while maintaining a compact overall profile. Wilson Combat chose to keep the factory Sig Sauer barrel on this particular model, which remains highly reliable and well-suited for this concealed carry model. But I will say the coating is sub par and wears off fast. I wish they made their own.

Fire Control Unit (FCU) / Trigger

For the WCP365L, I opted for the factory Sig Sauer FCU and trigger to experience the base-level model Wilson Combat has to offer, especially after trying their fully tuned WCP320. The trigger has a rolling feel, rather than a firm wall, which differs from my usual preference. However, it remains smooth and consistent, but can also feel slightly spongy at times. The reset has some travel but returns consistently to a decent break. Based on feel, I’d estimate the trigger pull weight at around 4-5 pounds, which I’ll confirm with a gauge for confirmation.

Grip Module

Wilson Combat’s signature grip module is a standout feature on the WCP365L. The ergonomic design provides excellent comfort and control, with the grip contours naturally fitting the hand. I refer to the textured design as the “rising sun,” as it creates a secure but not overly aggressive hold. The front and rear of the grip have more aggressive stippling for added grip, while the sides are less abrasive, which is ideal for concealed carry, as it prevents discomfort against the skin. The carry cut and reshaped design feel secure in the hand, and also features an accessory rail for mounting lights or lasers.

Sights

The WCP365L comes with Wilson Combat Battlesights featuring a red fiber optic front sight. The front sight captures ambient light effectively, creating a bright, easy-to-see aiming point. The rear sight is a plain black design with no dots but does provide a clear sight picture. But my favorite part is the optic cut, I’m a huge fan of red dots on pistols so I opted to add the Mepro MPO Pro S, which has been a fantastic addition. A review of this optic is coming soon.

Live Performance

On the range the WCP365L proved to be a solid performer. It’s a blast to shoot, with a grip that feels secure despite its shorter length, allowing for a firm hold. However, if I had the chance to choose again, I might go for the XL grip module, mainly as a personal preference for a bit more real estate.

The first 100 rounds ran flawlessly, and the gun’s balance really did impress me. Now, after about 500-600 rounds, it continues to deliver reliable performance as expected from Wilson Combat. The trigger, though effective, could be improved im not the biggest fan of it. Comparing it to the action-tuned trigger on the WCP320, I’d definitely prefer Wilson Combat’s fully tuned version on this model. The stock Sig trigger has a rolling feel, which is consistent but can feel a bit spongy at times. It’s functional, but the action-tuned option, I think would enhance the shooting experience.

The slide serrations, offer ample grip for racking, with front serrations that are essential for my style, especially with a red dot mounted. The grip itself, with its carry cuts and stippling, feels great in the hand, though I do wish it were slightly longer like on the WCP365XL, but that’s an easy fix being able to swap modules.

As for the sights, they performed well, with the red fiber optic front sight providing easy and quick target acquisition. However, I do prefer a rear sight with dots, as it helps with faster alignment. Once I added the Mepro MPO Pro S red dot, the fun factor jumped to a new level, making the WCP365L an even more enjoyable and versatile shooter.

Reflecting on my range experience, there are three things I’d consider changing: upgrading to the XL grip module, swapping in Wilson Combat’s action-tuned FCU, and adding an extended magazine release. With these upgrades I feel it really would have blown me out of the water but now we’ll never know. Well maybe not never but for now I’ll just have to keep wondering.

Overall Rating

Build Quality: 4.6/5

The build quality of the WCP365L is exactly what i would expect from Wilson Combat, with high-quality materials and a flawless DLC finish on the slide. However, I do wish Wilson Combat had either recoated or used their own barrel, as the factory barrel’s finish showed signs of wear more quickly than expected.

Ergonomics: 4.4/5

The slide design provides excellent grip with front and rear serrations and a comfortable hold. The grip module feels naturally secure in the hand, though it’s a bit short for my preference, an easy fix with the XL module for those who want a bit more length.

Sights: 3.8/5

The red fiber optic front sight is highly visible and easy to acquire, but the plain black rear sight could benefit from two dots for those who prefer faster alignment. The optic cut is one of my favorite features, and I made great use of it with the Mepro MPO Pro S.

Reliability/Performance: 4.5/5

The WCP365L maintains the reliability of the legendary P365 platform with improved handling. While it performs well, the experience would benefit from the upgraded action-tuned trigger, as I found the factory trigger to have a slightly spongy feel compared to Wilson Combat’s tuned options.

Value: 4.0/5

With a price range of $1,100-$1,450, the WCP365L offers decent value given the extensive design and ergonomic improvements Wilson Combat has made. That said, I’d recommend investing in the action-tuned model for an even better experience, as I did with the WCP320 and thoroughly enjoyed the feel of the trigger.

Average Rating: 4.3/5

Final Thoughts

The Wilson Combat WCP365L is a premium take on the P365 platform, blending compact carry convenience with Wilson Combat’s renowned craftsmanship. The upgrades to the slide, grip, and optics-ready design enhance both functionality and aesthetics. While the stock trigger isn’t my favorite, the action-tuned version would definitely provide a cleaner, crisper feel if it’s anything like the WCP320. For those seeking a compact carry with a high-quality build, the WCP365L delivers. At $1,100 to $1,450, it’s a solid investment, with the action-tuned model offering the most refined experience.
