Features and Technology
The EOTech XPS3 is packed with advanced features and cutting-edge technology designed to enhance your shooting experience. From its versatile reticle options to night vision compatibility, the XPS3 is engineered for performance and reliability.
Reticle Options
The EOTech XPS3 offers two reticle options. The 1 dot system features a 68 MOA ring and a 1 MOA dot. The 2 dot system features a 68 MOA ring and two 1 MOA dots. The 1 dot option uses the dot for 50 yards and 200 yards with a third aiming point at the bottom of the ring for 7 yards. The two dot system uses the same aiming point as the single dot but with the addition of the second dot which is used for 500 yards. Now with those being said it should also be known these aiming points where made with the use of .223 cal. 62 gr. 2,900 vel., aiming point may vary when using different ammo and loads.

Night Vision Compatibility
The XPS3 is compatible with night vision devices, offering 10 additional settings for Gen I through III+ night vision. Night vision capability can be toggled by pressing the button labeled NV just above the brightness buttons. It ensures optimal performance in low-light conditions, allowing seamless transitions from day to night operations.
Waterproof
Engineered for durability, the XPS3 is waterproof up to 33 feet. This is achieved by making the XPS3 a completely sealed unit. Ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments and maintaining its integrity through rigorous use.
Compact and Lightweight Design
Weighing in at only 9 ounces and measuring 3.8″ x 2.1″ x 2.5″, the XPS3 is the shortest and lightest night vision-compatible holographic sight from EOTech. Its compact design conserves rail space, allowing room for additional accessories and enhancing overall firearm maneuverability.

Battery Life
Powered by a single transverse mounted CR123 battery, the XPS3 provides up to 1,000 continuous hours of use at nominal settings. This extended battery life ensures the sight remains operational during prolonged missions or range sessions.
Versatile Mounting Options
With 1″ Weaver and MIL-STD-1913 rail mounts, the XPS3 offers versatile mounting options, making it compatible with a wide range of firearm. This flexibility enhances its adaptability to different shooting needs and configurations.
Design and Build Quality
The EOTech XPS3 has a unique look that immediately marks it as an EOTech product. With subtle branding on each side, it is visually appealing without being overly flashy. The compact and lightweight design is fantastic for reducing the weight and not taking up to much space on your rifle. It features a protective aluminum shell that adds durability, and the glass is exceptionally clear with a non-reflective coating that effectively minimizes light reflection.

The XPS3 offers 30 different brightness settings, including options for night vision, with soft spongy feeling buttons that provide very little audible click. The windage and elevation adjustments are made with firm knobs on the side of the optic that produce audible clicks for each increment.
The battery cover is high-quality and contributes to the sight’s waterproof capabilities. The mount is robust, tightening securely with a Torx bit to ensure a firm hold. The optic’s finish is flawless and smooth, holding up well to abuse but can scratch pretty easy when brushed against stone, but I mean what doesn’t scratch when rubbed on a rock. Best of all, it’s proudly made in the USA, reflecting top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, the EOTech XPS3 is constructed with high-quality materials ensuring it holds up to the rigorous abuse of professional use.

Installation and Zeroing
Installing the EOTech XPS3 is pretty straightforward. First, align the sight on a Picatinny rail. Then, using a Torx bit, tighten the clamp until it is secure, providing a solid and firm hold.
For zeroing, the windage and elevation adjustments are located on the side of the sight, with each click making a 0.5 MOA adjustment.

When testing, the adjustments proved to be precise. After making a five-shot group at 50 yards, and doing a little bit of math, the results brought the sight dead on target, confirming the accuracy of EOTech’s claims of their adjustment increments.
Performance and Accuracy
First, I mounted the EOTech XPS3 on my BRN-180 build, which features a Brownells upper and an American Defense UIC-180 billet lower. For a full review of this build, click here. I tested it with .223 62-grain ammo from Ammo Inc. Although the velocity was slightly lower than EOTech’s specs, at 2850 fps instead of 2900 fps, it was close enough for me.

After sighting in at 50 yards, I moved to 7 yards, aligning my target with the bottom of the circle, which was spot on. Then moving back to 200 yards, and using the dot once again which we used to zero in at 50 yards proved to be very accurate. For the ones with the 2 dot reticle and using that second dot for 500 yards, I would definitely recommend using a magnifier.
After testing the reticle with .223, I had the perfect build for the XPS3… My Ranger Point Precision Henry X Model .44 Mag lever action. For a full build breakdown, click here. After having a prism on it for some time I was ready to switch it up, and man did it fit this rifle perfectly! After putting several hundred rounds down range, I can say that the 68 MOA circle is fantastic for quick target acquisition or even help finding the dot on quick draws. The sight has been flawless, no malfunctions, flickers, or issues holding its zero. The sight picture is clear and has a very nice sized window.

Some might think the XPS3 is a bit wide for a skinny lever-action rifle, but I love it. I mean look at the picture you can’t tell me it doesn’t look badass. Overall, I’ve really been enjoying it. Yes, it’s got a steep price tag but for a product that’s unique, super high quality and made in the USA it’s worth the price in my opinion. Now I haven’t tested the night vision capabilities yet but hope to provide an update on that soon.
